Welcome to our class page.
After the Canterbury Earthquake, we investigated 'epic poems' and had a go at writing some of our own! Here are three of them...
One dark morning
One dark morning
I woke without warning
Everything was shaking
What a noise it was making
There was a deep dark rumble
Out of bed I did tumble
I was still feeling dazed
And at the same time amazed
It all used to be silent
But now it's getting violent
I stumbled to the door
Hoping there would be no more
As the shakes got small
My family started to call
"Come here" my mum cried
"We need to get out side"
Everyone was felling shocked
The town had really rocked
But there was one thing I certainly knew
I desperately needed the loo!!

When the Earth Shook
In the deep dark morning
When daddy was snoring
The power was failing
And we were all waking
Something was shaking the ground
Chimneys were falling down
Bricks were smashing
And vases were crashing
Lives were at stake
There was no time to waste
Buildings were stumbling
The city was crumbling
People were waking
From this terrible shaking
Dogs were hiding
And babies were crying
Day after day
Aftershocks came
But there was no need to run
The Earthquake was done

The Midnight Quake
At 4.30 am. when all the world was quiet
There came a sound like a huge riot
All our lives were at stake
It was a huge earthquake
As I leapt out of bed
I smacked my head
I hid under the door
Darkness was all I saw
Aftershocks hit
We were frightened a bit
My sister was crying
But no one was dying
The power was out the water was too
We couldn't watch TV or go to the loo
We lit a candle and tried to sleep
As we listened to our house creak.

This term we visited Adrenalin Forest and had a surfing lesson at Spencerville Beach with Surfing Safari.
