PALS - Parents at Ladbrooks School

Welcome to PALS (Parents Association at Ladbrooks School)

We are a team of parents/caregivers who work alongside our staff and BOT to further enrich the learning experience of our Ladbrooks tamariki. We are keen to support the fantastic Ladbrooks School community by fundraising for the essential, the added extras, and the fun-to-have resources. We also love to get the community together socially and welcome our new Ladbrooks whanau.

Keep in Touch – PALS events and activities are communicated through both the Ladbrooks Parent Hub page on Facebook, via HERO and at the school gate. Meeting minutes get posted via facebook.

Help is always appreciated - Contributions of time, effort and input are always appreciated and any and all caregivers, parents and grandparents are invited to join us at meetings (once a term), or help out at events or give suggestions for fundraising and allocating funds. PALs is yours as much as ours so please feel welcome. Please contact any of the team if you’d like to be involved.

Friday Lunches – Our tamariki love their weekly lunches that are ordered via the Kindo App by 9am each Friday. We appreciate our Friday Lunch volunteers who bring it all together each week. Menu management, buying supplies, collating orders and preparing kai each week is our biggest ongoing activity.

We’d really appreciate your help!! If you have some time you can spare to help for a few hours on a couple of Fridays each term, then please contact Tayla.

Merino Jerseys and School Jackets – Locally manufactured Merino jerseys and soft-shell jackets are regularly batch ordered through Kindo. Merino jerseys are fairly true to size while the jackets are quite small through the body and quite long in the arm. Most children tend to order 2 sizes larger than usual. ie. Size 8/9 – look for a size 11/12 which will give a wee bit of grow space. Details and ordering on Kindo App.

Second Hand Uniforms – We usually have a generous supply of second hand clothing kindly donated back by the community. We sell these for $5 a piece (or a donation). Second hand uniform sales are available all year round by contacting Kelly and she’ll show you what’s in stock.

Catering/Fundraising opportunities – These are a regular part of the PALS fundraising efforts. We can’t take on everything that comes our way but will schedule several large catering opportunities each year. Help is always appreciated prior to and at these functions, and we will ask for donations of food items if required. Look out for requests for assistance.
