Pets Day -Agricultural Pet Competitions - All You Need to Know

At Ladbrooks School an annual Pets Day celebration is held. This is a long standing tradition for our school. It generally takes place toward the end of October.

There are two parts to the day, children's home made crafts, displayed in the Ladbrooks Hall, are brought to school in the morning and are judged from 9am onward. Children are given a range of categories to choose from. There is no minimum or maximum entries that a student can exhibit. These following information articles only cover agricultural pets, separate information is given to parents about crafts closer to the event and the domestic pet section is covered separaetly on the website.

In the afternoon pets are brought to school. Entry of pets comes under two different parts, ie Agricultural Club entries for baby farm animals.  The other part is for domestic family pets.

Only one pet entry per student is permitted. Bringing a pet isnot manageable for some families and as pets can only be brought to school for the afternoon entering  is optional.  Any pet must be part of the students' family, not a borrowed pet.

Entered children are judged within their appropriate age group, junior, intermediate or senior. There are certificates, trophies, cups and ribbons presented at the end of judging at a prizegiving.
